Hello, I'm a climber living in the US and planning a trip to Australia in 2006. To save money for this trip, I'm selling some used gear that I no longer use or need.

I also have some brand new gear that I bought but haven't used yet, I'm willing to part with them if the price is right. To be upfront with you, I'm not selling these at a loss to myself, of course. But as I understand they are still cheaper than most retail prices.

And if you're looking for any hard to find items in Australia, let me know and I may be able to help your purchase as well.

Shipping to Australia (by air mail) depends on the actual weight of the package, but I'll say it's between $10 - $15 AUD. Let me know which items you want to buy, I'll pack it all up, go to the post office and get a quote on the shipping for you. Paypal.com is the easiest and fastest way to send me the money. You can even use a credit card if you don't trust me.

Here's what I have, click on the thumbnails for a *HUGE* photo. All prices are in Australian Dollars.

#3 DMM 4-CU four cam unit, $80. Blue, NEW. 43 - 66mm, 14kN, 138g.

(On hold for someone) #0.75 Black Diamond C4, $90. Green, NEW. 24.1 - 40.9mm, 14kN, 116g.

(On hold for someone) #1 Black Diamond C4, $90. Red, NEW. 30.2 - 52.1mm, 14kN, 134g.

#2 Black Diamond C4, $95. Yellow, NEW. 37.3 - 64.3mm, 14kN, 158g. (I forgot to take a photo of this one, but it's like the other C4s, new in the bag).

Nine Trango Classic Wiregate carabiners, NEW. $10 each, or $80 for the whole lot (9). I bought a bunch of these as racking biners, these are what I have left unused. Weight: 40g, closed strength: 24kN, open strength: 8kN, gate opening: 28mm.

(On hold for someone) Ten Black Diamond Quickwire carabiners, NEW. $12 each, or $110 for the whole lot (10). I bought these to rack cams. Weight: 42g, closed strength: 25kN, open strength: 9kN, gate opening: 25mm.

Petzl Ascender, right hand (blue), NEW. $75.

Let me know if you're interested in any of these. Thanks!

G'day,

Are these AU$'s? As in either currency those Cams are expensive.

You think they are expensive? I was looking at some Australian retailer sites, it seems like all the cams are over $100AUD. But I'm willing to bargain if you want to make a lower offer. Yes, I am selling things higher than what I bought them for, I'm upfront about that. That's my motivation: to save the buyer some money, and to make a small profit. Otherwise I wouldn't be selling perfectly new gear I can use myself. I'm not trying to make a tons of money out of this, just a little extra cash to put into my savings.

um yeah.. they're not really worth the risk if you add postage into the equation.

Are you offering local backup for warranty claims as well?
C4's are well priced in OZ now that there is competition.
Seriously dude, if you want to sell them they have to be on the doorstep for $65.

With the exchange rate, that's even cheaper than US retail price. Maybe I should start buying gear from Oz? =)

Oh well, I now have a few new C4s on my rack.

How about Trango #1 max cam, anyone want one? Don't think these are available overseas yet, they are even hard to get in the US. *swinging a max cam like a pocket watch* You want a max cam... you want a max cam...

New asymmetrical tri-axle design, 2:1 expansion range. Same weight as the C4s with greater range. More info on Trango's website

It's the #1, red, the one you see in the picture. Range: 25-51mm, weight 145g, 10kN (12kN on Trango's web site, but marked as 10kN on the cam itself).

Since you all didn't like my prices, how about you make me an offer?
