I've just moved to Sydney from the UK, and after visiting a couple of climbing centres here, was wondering about the top rope set up as well. The double biner clip in isn't too bad, though I'd prefer to do my tie my own knot. The things that do annoy me are: - being forced to anchor in (I climb with my gf, and she's 30kg lighter than I am) and not using my own belay device. - the %$£* pulley system with the doubled rope. Lowering off takes forever and has become tedious and joyless. And there's no rush generated from falling off, as you don't go anywhere. I'm sure there's a health and safety motivation for these things, but I can see myself abandoning top roping indoors here and just leading...
