Found out the other day Jerry Moffatt has an autobiography 'Revelations'
Seems to get good writeups in the overseas press.
Anyone read it, any good, is it available in Aus?

(And yes Eduardo, I think he has done stuff on Grit!)

Is there any religion in it?

I've heard the book is very good and is written in a style similar to Jerry spraying about himself which is in fact quite entertaining. I have not read it but hope to soon.

I got given it for Xmas. I thought it was excellent but then Jerry is a hero of mine. It's got plenty of funny stuff (some of it thanks to Grimers writing style) but is a bit 'look at me, I did this, aren't I great.'

But then that was Jerry all over!

There is a quote by Jerry Moffatt that goes something like 'I wanna do something where every part of me is screaming to fall off, but I keep going' - Does anyone have the actual quote? I've always thought it was pretty cool.

I'm from the UK and was enough of a geek to of bought a signed copy when it came out!

Jerry is/was one of my heroes, so I am biased, but this is a BRILLIANT book. Very inspiring, entertaining and shows what it takes to be one of the worlds greatest.

Every climber should own this book or at least read it once.

it is not being distributed in Australia, however i have strong ties to Sheffield still and can get copies if people want one.

Oldfella, I too have connections in Sheffield being a 5th generation Yorkshireman living in the colonies.
I was hoping to source copy of said book in Melb but it looks like I'm going to have to get the thing sent over by the boys. They owe me this after all the years they've been coming over here, dossing on my floor and ruining my washing machine.
And bathnight is still Friday night!

the only thing i remember about the book is that he was on the dole for 7 YEARS!! if i was on the dole for that long, i would be a kick ass climber as well.

Chaps, OK, finished reading it now (am a very slow reader) and it is quite a good insight of 'a man possessed' by climbing and his approach to training for it, quite inspiring I thought.

Now I'm reading 'Rock Athlete' which is Ron Fawcetts book. It's a bit thinner and a bit less 'laddish' if you know what I mean and that too is proving to be a good read. He's just done Astroman with Pete Livesey which was a milestone ascent back in '74.

Anyone else read it?

When's yours out Simey? (can I suggest 'Cafe Athlete'?)

Wouldn't Simey's biography be called "Simey's little black book"? That'd increase sales wouldn't it?

I was under the impression that would just be a leaflet!? ;-)

Maybe so, but it would take 7 years to get it published?
