One for the girls...

Not at all wanting to inflame some stoopid battle of the sexes, but how do other women find it climbing in a pretty male dominated arena? At gym's esp I look around and see very few females, and only then stellar performers with amazing technique. Do other girls drop out due to..what? For me sometimes it feels kinda boys clubbish, and holding your own esp as a bumbly is daunting. Lisa C- here is your invite to rave sista!

I don't find it a problem myself. My biggest competitor is me and so I don't really focus on the boys club around me.

When I first started climbing I was single and indeed had NO problem with the abundance of all those finely polished, muscly specimens in the gym with no shirts on.... :-) Did I care if I was or am bumbly? No way. I can see my improvement session to session and I am completely happy with that. If I were trying to compete with someone else I would be ending up injured quick as a flash. Injury would be my only reason for dropping out.

While I guess there are a lot more males than females visible in the climbing gyms, a lot of the top climbers in the world are female so I don't really confine the climbing arena to what I see in the gym.

the riddle of hexes identity is beginning to unravel- either he's a she, or his local crag is Launceton....

I think from the knowledge 'Hexy Baby" has of climbing in Australia i wouldnt be suprised if he is an alter ego of someone very high profile on the climbing scene in Australia... oooohhhhhhh. Whoever he/she (i'll say it from now on) is i think it's posts are a cack. keep posting hexy in the meantime maybe we could have a guess who hex is thread and hex could help us out with the old getting warmer getting cooler hints, perhaps even getting close to the cauldron, getting further from the cauldron etc

Actually, on second thought, his grammar is too good to be Ben.

That's a given I reckon, so i am a bit suprised it hasn't been figured out who he is .. only so many people would have been in the places / on the climbs / around climbing for as long as Hex has.

Here'rs my clue: Hex only appeared when the bolting forum became closed. But I bet hex was a user of chockstone proir, under another (real?) name. Who suddenly stopped posting at this time also? Or does Hex still post to chockstone also under a real name??

Nothing like a bit of a puzzle.....

Sorry to hyjack your thread Sam, but it seems to have morphed into a dispell the Hex item.
More clues;
* AK Dancer uses/ed the same icon.
* Hex-Troll started posting 5/2/04

If H-T still posts under another name then its a case of dude schitzophrenia controlling more than the cauldron.

Actually now that i think about the name Doctor "Claw" it gets my mind racing...hmmmmmm

Sam, don't mind these wankers. If you would be keen to hook up for a climb without any competition let me know.
