We moved on from that a few years ago. Now we grade every climb above about 18 (with a Ewbank
grade although its hard to compare them with rock grades) and although we use one colour per route, it
doesn't always correlate to the grade - we have colours like brown. purple etc which were never part of
the colour/grade system anyway. Under 18 we usually like to stick with green - easiest and blue a bit
harder. The plaques screwed to the wall tell you about all the routes and grades.

I climbed in US gyms and don't like the tape system (although we sometimes have to use some when
there are similar colours near each other) coz it can be hard to see a bit of tape under a hold
sometimes, and it can look messy.
