I was wondering if there is any Ice climbing there? Alpine Ice or water Ice? I am from the States and trying to plan a trip there in 2004 .

By "there" I assume you mean Australia in general or just Victoria? In any case I think Neil is the best person to answer your question, when he gets back from peak bagging in New Zealand, where you'd be much better off for ice climbing. Australia has only tiny mountains in comparison, and even ice climbing on our highest mount (see: here) is limited to 15m sections of frozen, less than vertical stuff, good for much else but mucking about on, in preperation for something real overseas.

For someone coming from overseas we have no real ice to speak of. The best you can hope for is verglassed rock and the very sporadic 10m high waterfall that will only form in freak conditions. Leave your tools behind if coming to oz! New Zealand however has lots of alpine and water ice and is only a 3 hour plane flight (AU$500) from Australia.
