Hi All,
You may not all realise that the RTA is currently planning an upgrade to the Great Western Highway.
There are four different corridors planned with each corridor having some pros and cons to residents and the surrounding National Parks. Luckily, as far as we can see, none of the local crags will be dramatically affected (potential effect includes noise pollution to currently quiet areas in Mt York such as bardens, zap, mt york).
Two corridors will follow the darling causeway (towards bell) before veering off west, one through bushland and the other through plains. The other two will curve north of Mt Victoria, potentially impacting residents on that side & also cutting over Mt York road before joining back up to the original highway at the servo.
Other potential negative effect: an increase in the number of coal trucks going down the great western highway.
The rta will be running workshops to involve the community. Please check out the rta website http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au for the full report.

My vote is a tunnel (from Penrith to Hartley Vale!)

Nah dual carriage way over the bells line with off ramps at various crags along the way...that would be sweet.

I doubt the users of Wolgan Club Med will be too worried by the RTA, unless they obliterate an emergency helipad or two.
