Jeffersonville, Vermont - Height of Land Publications (HOL), owners of Backcountry and Telemark Skier Magazines, closed on a deal today that lays the groundwork for the resurrection of Alpinist Magazine.
Alpinist Magazine
Recent Alpinist Magazine Cover
Alpinist, a premium quarterly celebrating mountaineering and the climbing life, closed its doors this fall, just prior to the release of Issue 26. The new owners, HOL, plan to release Issue 26 on March 1, and will honor all current subscriptions........

Hopefully they'll take all of the alpine / mountaineering stuff out of it. It's a nice mag, but no matter how much I try I just can't get enthused about climbing's peak bagging / snow slogging sister sport...

There isn't much ''snow slogging'' in The Alpinist.
I hope it is exactly the same as it was. It is called The Alpinist for a reason.

Bah humbug - plenty of alpine stuff doesn't go anywhere near snow & ice (at least not intentionally). And anyway, imagine how boring Crux would have been if all it talked about were the hardest moves on a climb??

I second that!
I got given a sub as a gift and only got one issue before they closed
Now I won't have to spend so much time in the newsagents waiting for the next issue of Vertical.
