>To be fair cookie, you have to admit - its not the pinnacle of our sport.
understandably, but to throw a bucket of water on a newbie's fiery excitement, even if it is indoor climbing (and i know how people see this as sub par climbing) is a little on the sad side, i originally put the post there, because i know a lot of people do climb at hardrock, and might have enjoyed the new route... even if it is taboo to admit that maybe just occasionally, you leave the mountain and train indoors.. oops, i've said it!
plus, i have read numerous times that chockstone isn’t getting the posts that it used to.. *shrugs* the macho bull-wobble that people use to put themselves up on a pedestal while crushing others beneath their feet is probably the reason why there are so many lurkers here.
That being said, no, it is not the pinnacle of this sport to pull on plastic, but f-me, I am enjoying it right now, and considering I don’t have a HELMET yet, i can't go outside, yes, i'm gagging for it, but if you are going to look down your nose at a newbie, happy enough to climb indoors until she can get her sh*t sorted and find someone to teach her how to trad climb outdoors, then i'm just going to give you the good o'l 2 finger salute..
*deep breath* *returns to work*
