>>hey, I run those camps
err... sorry, but when your freezing tent is full of vomit from a food poisoned friend and there are giant bear-like wombats scaring you half to death and you cant sleep at all on the rock hard thing they give you, it can really scar a 7 year old :/

>>Sorry if this all seems a bit harsh but honestly I find the whole thing ridiculous
tad on the harsh side there, but you are entitled to your opinion.. i must interject that one man's meat is another man's poison. I don’t personally like living in filth and stinking to high heaven all the while considering the 11 week crust of bodily fluids and dirt a status symbol. i like designer labels, and expensive perfume. so i apologise if i consider my "emirates camping experience" roughing it to the extreme, i suppose my balls just aren’t as big as yours.

>>my initiation to climbing was a trip to summerday followed by camping at Staplyton
I’m glad your experience was good :) it sounds wonderful (and gives me a fair bit of confidence for the campsite :P) I really hope I like it :/

>>give it a go. you cant spend your whole life in cotton wool. if you don’t like it buy a >campervan or stay at the log cabins or other solid accommodation.
oh i have to give it a go, I promised :P and i like cotton wool :) its soft and fuzzy :P but you are right, there's always alternatives to a tent. I’m not so opposed to a Winnebago :D
