It seems like you are considering a trip for some high angle involvement with either the Du Cane Range or Federation Peak and yet you don't know: 1. Where they mountains are. 2. What routes are available. 3. Likely weather conditions. 4. How to stage a dignified retreat. I realise that you are now trying to remedy the above points. I also realise that such a trip would be in the spirit of high adventure. However, I suggest you wait until it's raining, do a few multi-pitch trad routes on Ben Lomond or the Organ Pipes (sans bolt kit) - then make up your mind if you are up for it. Ian
