Strictly for geriatics only. There's lots more to be added, but it's going to be a slow process.

Love them!
Seat belt webbing waistloops, 70's tubular tape red and green colours, camping where you are no longer allowed to!, new routes, no thoughts of melanomas; ...
They were heady days indeed, and I can almost smell the times in my mind again, though my similar experiences were elsewhere.
Thanks for sharing.

Haven't heard anything about Tim Beaman for years, does anyone know anything about his current whereabouts? He did a lot of climbing with Roland Pauligk when he was in Oz.

I'm not familiar with the bird shaped piece of gear in this photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29585346@N07/2770468444/in/photostream/ How does it work?

I believe that went into the crack that was later to become "Galah Performance". Not that I'd know anything about it - much.
For those of you with a Henry Barber fixation (I know you're out there), I've just added the sequence of him doing the first ascent of Savage Journey, back in the days when the world was black & white.

....and now I've added Henry's FFA of Incipience at Cole's Bay.

The stunning photo titled "Mt Eliza Camp"... is that Lake Pedder on the background, just beginning to fill with water?

2nd shot of Savage Journey is wicked, how's the tree which looks like its a shadow but the rope in front of it shows up that he climbed the tree...or did he?

Unfortunately yes. I'll put up some original Pedder pictures eventually, but I haven't scanned those yet.

No, it is a shadow!. The tree is behind and to the right a bit - the shadow of the rope gives a clue.
