Hello,
I wanted to let people know about the new climbing film titled: "The Wadi Rum Expedition". The film
documents Heidi Wirtz, Ben Firth, Chris Kalous and myself attempting a new line on a 1200ft
sandstone wall in the Middle East. Witness up close the techniques used and the commitment
required to put up a new free climb on a big wall in a far off country. It has great music, offers a
glimpse into the culture of the area and has never before seen climbing footage!
To order the DVD or watch the trailer please visit the website:

Ben Firth - now there's a name from the past! I climbed with him a bit at Arapiles in the late 90s...

Ben and I climbed together in the 90's, I was doing the dirt-bag at the pines, but don't remember seeing
much of you around then Neil, Ben and I went over to Tasmania around that time, and did the totem pole
as well.

i remember ben walking around camp trying to find a shoe that would stay on the crucial foothold on
Masada. I think he tried about 5 brands! i was there for a few months in 97 or maybe 98 with Gareth, then
weekend warriored it pretty regulary in 98/99.
