I'm sure this one has been done before but.....there was nothing on TV so I hired Cliffhanger. The last time I saw the film I hadn't begun climbing. I am embarrassed to say that despite the film being WAY WRONG, I still enjoyed it. It is full of mistakes on all levels.
The first major one is the Piton to Helicopter cable connection...and it goes downhill from there.
Was Wolfgang Gullich actually soloing in the opening sequences?
EDIT:
See film review...
