The Victorian State Bouldering Comp will be held at The Lactic factory this year. It is the qualifier for the National Bouldering Competition to be held in November.
Any interested Volunteers please call me on 0417 529 723 or even just PM me.
This comp. is an SCA sanctioned event. The SCA are the peak body for competition climbing in Australia.
Many thanks to Christian for his help so far.

Okay only 10 Days till this sucker comes up and I need to clear up a bit of confusion...
The format is Pumpfest - It will be identical to the usual Lactic Factory Social Comps that we hold throughout the year (5 hardest problems in 2 hours).
It runs over two days to split the categories (9 different categories)
Sat Morning - YouthABC&D - Sponsored by Infinite Holds
Sat Arvo -Juniors and Masters -Sponsored by Climbing Anchors and The Litmus Group
Open B - Sunday Morning - Sponsored by Flashed
Open A - Sunday Arvo - Sponsored by Monkey Skin
Registration is open now and registration on the day will be possible but places are limited to 30 competitors per session on a first come, first served basis -
So download an entry form and get it in NOW!!!
The comp costs $35 and you also need to be a member of the SCA as it is a Sanctioned State Event (Qualifier for the Nationals) - $1 day membership or $45 Full (Full m'ships need to be sorted via the SCA directly before the event)
There will be out of towners (A Tassie and Sydney crew) coming to this event so it should be hotly contested so git training victorians!!
Any Questions? post them here and I'll sort em out.
Hope to see masses of you next weekend,
Christian

why waste 70 bucks on a comp when that could get you to araps, the gramps or buffalo and back?! :P
atleast thats the reason i no longer bother with comps.

i think your math is a bit out. as i see it, its $35 to compete plus $1 for SCA day membership or $80 if you join SCA for the year!

yeah, my math was wrong, it was $80, but belayslave also said in his post above (before editing) that a $1 memebership would still not allow you to compete....

Just to confirm with the whole cost thing. There is the entry fee of $35.00.
There will be two types of membership open for the day,1 ) $1.00 membership which will allow you to compete on the day. 2) Full SCA membership of $45.00 which is the annual fee allowing you to enter every other SCA event Australia wide.
So in total you have three options,
A) $35.00 for Entry to existing membership holders
B) $36.00 for Entry and Day membership
C) $80.00 for Entry and Full membership
Please be aware that there has been significant work put into organizing this event. There has been personal time and money spent to advertise and promote. We are very lucky here to have a very unique facility to run such an event so I think for those of you who like to boulder and get on some new problems, come on down and enjoy the event. All categories have now been sponsored and we even have CASH prizes.
If anyone has any questions or queries, don't hesitate to call me on 0417 529 723 or even contact Christian at the Lactic Factory.
All the best, and I hope to see you at the comp.

Rich Melder
