Don't think access is a problem to the Sparrow Slabs area anymore.
I called the VCC access officer when I first went there, no response. So we just went through - waved to whoever lived on the the same road and they waved back.
Not a bad area. Think it's underrated. Bring big bolt plates though and some wires - Adrenalin hangers fit but RP brand and the other small ones you get in Melbourne climbing shops (forget the brand) are too small for some routes. Can get a bit hairy if you're at the bolt with hard climbing to come and no way to clip in to the fixed pro (well, I felt like pooing my pants, at any rate).

Access is not a problem if you use the directions in the Eastern Districts guide. Sparrow Slabs are easily accessed via a 5 min. walk from the car. Other areas are a bit of a walk in but worth the effort. Recommend going to Blunt Rock through to Eagle rock area.
The land owner at the northern end was planning (5 years ago) to put a camp ground in. This unfortunately hasn't happened yet. Not sure where the nearest camping is?
