Great for making "extender" quick-draws. IMO

|Oz Climbing Calendar 07 - call for photos
||Tuesday, 13 June 2006 At 3:49:15 PM
Onsight Photography is now working on production of the Australian Climbing Calendar 2007 and we wanted to let you know that if you have any photographs which you think might be great to have included in the calendar, then we'd love to check them out for consideration.
We are looking for stunning, original, technically good images from a range of Australian climbing areas. We are aiming to produce a calendar which has a balance of areas, climbers, styles of climbing, and grades of difficulty - but above all we want this to be a celebration of Oz climbing. We are open to things that are different, but also we will not rule out an image (or similars) which has been submitted/published to Rock or the new CruxMag. We will consider both slides and digi of at least 6 megapixels (it depends on the image and quality of the lens as much as anything).
Images for consideration can be submitted on CD (as small preview files or as hi-res digital files, sent to PO Box below), as small preview jpegs attached to emails (but please keep emails to under 1MB), and of course as original slides (we are willing to take responsibility for a limited number of originals slides, however please contact us first before sending slides). Please keep your editing "tight" and just send us your very best images. Those familiar with the calendar format will know that we are actually looking for two images per month: the main image and a smaller secondary shot which somehow relates. We will pay $170 for the main images (significantly more than you'll get for anything in Rock, even the cover) and $30 for the secondary shots (plus GST where applicable).
We will need to receive submissions by 30 June 2006.
To give you a bit more background here; we first published the Australian Climbing Calendar 1995. It was published each year until 2002 when we expanded its scope to become the World Climbing Calendar (we are still producing a World Climbing Calendar using my own photography exclusively, distributed overseas). Last year we decided to restart the Oz calendar and opened it up to other photographers and the Australian Climbing Calendar 2006 resulted. It was well supported and received. This year we have decided to open it up even further. Hence this invitation.
Thanks to everyone for their support. Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing your shots!
