Thought I'd take the opportunity for plugging the tsunami volunteer centre in Khao Lak, Thailand. Mat Farrell (Cheesehead) and I both spent time there last year and loved it. I'm heading back again soon. Krabi and Phi Phi are within half a days travel and so is Chiang Mai, if you're allowed to include a 1hr flight. We're going into the bad time of year for climbing weather in Thailand now. However, there will still be heaps to do in Khao Lak come the next cool season (Dec to Feb) for anyone wanting to spend part of a climbing trip helping out.
