Just a quick post to find out some information.

Q. Is the road that leads to Warragul Rocks, East falls rd? or is it West falls rd?

East Falls rd is the best and usual approach, as West Falls rd is meant to be a rough 4WD track.

See Warrigul rocks guide page

Just a tip on that west falls road, I went to this place with a mate a couple of years ago, took a wrong turn started going down this really steep dirt track though it looked well used thus i thought the road to the crag, ended up down a four wheel drive track facing a river / creek and getting back up the hill (in the rain) was interesting (ford falcon) anyways my point being you don't need a 4x4 to get there, so if you find yourself with a choice of turns and find yourself going down a steep hill, it's the wrong way.

I'd give you more advice on where to turn but it was 2+ years ago that i went there, and i haven't gone back..... (take that as you will).....hehehe (TIP It takes One(ish) extra hours and you'd be in the Gramps!!!)

Yeah, but I'm in shepparton so it is much closer than the gramps for me. Just wondering about the directions, thats all. I cam back from melbourne on sunday and thought that I would stop in for a quick look, but couldn't find east falls rd. Was wondering if you come from the hume hwy, is it the next rd after west falls rd or is it further along. If it is futher along, which rd is it after/before?

Cheers

Sorry Shepp, I am not sure. I have always approached from Flowerdale, so am unsure of directions from the Hume. Other chockstoner's may be able to help.

wow Pat - i think you may actaully have the directions correct. So you must sometime pay attention when scabbing a lift.To clarify - its a RIGHT-EAST turn off the Hume when travelling north from Melbourne.

I thought I did pretty well with the directions over here. Once on Ennis road you simply avoid all turns off until the sign posted East Falls road leads left to summit. If memory serves me correctly the East Falls turn off has a small pond on the left set a little back into the forest. Someone with a better memory can correct me on that.

Thanks for the info guys, most of the directions are great. I found my way to west falls rd via enis rd without trouble but then I guess I have missed east falls rd. Just wondering if it is signed or if you just have to take a punt on which rd you take after west falls rd? To be honest I didn't have that much time on sunday and thought i would do a drive by to see what the place was like, I was also running a bit low on gas and didn't want to get stuck in the middle of the forest without petrol.

I'll have a better look next time when I have enough of both time and petrol.

Cheers
