After introducing a chap to climbing... a few months later he said he wanted to lead
So i point him in the direction of the easiest climb on the cliff with plenty of protection
He climbs a body length up and places two dodgy nuts then proceeds on... and on...
I remind him to put some pro in *now* because falling will result in hitting the deck
He takes no notice and says he's knows what he is doing... i wait... he climbs some more

Being *well* above his last piece of pro (which is 2M off the deck) my belay is pointless
Not wanting to see blood and bone I uncliped from the belay and wandered off
After leaving him stranded on the ledge for a while I went back and started seconding...
Sure enough when i topout i find a dodgy anchor (OK but could have been much better)
After a few stern words of warning back at the pub he hasn't done anything stupid since...
