I'm not exactly sure why the publishing date doesn't read 1st of April. It's as if it was supposed to be published by The Onion.

The Dawn of Urban Big Wall Speed Climbing

An interesting read, but can't see it catching on amongst sport climbers though.
Hmm.
Are you going to do the 'Woodford home front door - Burnley Wall - Woodford home front door' thingy in sub 24 hrs now?
;-)

Post edit:
Eduardo had a dream once (all to be filmed for a Goatfest entry).
He invited me to participate in three iconic routes at three major Victorian climbing locations, with travel by motorbike between climbs, ... in a day - marathon...

I agreed, but due the motorbike speeds required/involved plus a personal injury he sustained about that time, I think he changed his mind to putting it on the back-burner.

If it had come off, your Woodford-Burnley Wall-Woodford 'single push' would've been considerably eclipsed!

What did I just say? I guess it could be summed up as, ' the idea of urban speed climbing isn't that new...'
;-)

2nd post edit;
Why does it need to be classified as an April fools thing?
Climbing is foolish for many per se, so what does it matter if we change the rules of the 'in a day' games we play to up the ante re challenge?
;-)

Isn't Woodford where all those hippies gather each year to sing folk songs to out of tune acoustic guitars and apply patchouli?

At any rate, I know the idea isn't new. I remember Macca talking about doing Ozi in a Day from Melbourne or Sydney. Frankly that idea scares me, I'm not a good enough driver for something like that. I think the real prize is the triple crown of plastic - Burnley, the Factory of Lactic, and this Brunswick Bouldering palace by 'fare means' ie, public transport.

Woodford, Woodstock, Would-wherever, ... even NYC!

Thanks for the link.

Post edit:
Hmm.
Would you consider a route on Doggie, with Macca, in a day (from his doorstep to doorstep), as less scary?
Heh, heh, heh.

I'd vote for anything that edweirdo gets up as first contender for Golden Goat award.

Anything that stubummerhogangasaurarse gets up these days would be a strong contender 2, but he is selling off his gear, so he is no longer a contender.

You know, I think I would. Truly.

(Which is easy enough to say having never been, let alone climbed, there).

Sure, but it'll be a minimalist trip report. 99 characters or less. I always find that 160 character limit of some media tends towards the weighty and pretentious.
