After a different thread referenced a hermitage (bivvy) near a well climbed pinnacle in Monserrat in Spain, I started thinking about cool bivouacs. They don't have to be climbing related. There are a few other special ones out there with amazing outlooks, or they were naturally just meant to be places to hang out, perhaps for some solitude, to share with a friend or as part of a benightment overnightment experience.
Anyone want to share theirs?
Some that spring to mind could be:
-the fisherman's hut at the point
-On the walk to mount solitary there is a pretty cool bivvy looking back at all the Katoomba cliffs on some flat rocks on the ridge
-El Cap tower
-The Exploding galaxies bivvy

The fishermans cave at Point Perp, legs hanging free out over void and the old steel bed frames. Magic view. I haven't in slept there for close to 20 years and I'm sure it's totally illegal.

Bivvying is an experience to be savoured.
Almost everywhere I have bivvied has been memorable & I have done it often, not only for climbing but also for motorcycling, & I look forward to doing many more.
Do it.
You are unlikely to regret it.
Post edit:
Although a bivvy beside the bike in the middle of nowhere is a good thing, I have to admit that most bivvies on a portaledge rate as a better experience.

Sentinel ridge on the Main Range has to be the classic as far as the Australian "alps" go.
Countless great ledges in the Blueys...Sundeck cave to start, Wild Is The Wind cave at Mt Boyce, Pierce's Pass lunch ledge, Bunny Bucket halfway ledge. And Mt Banks.

One New Year's Day I hiked up Mt Warning around 4am to watch the sunrise.
There were already a whole bunch of people there - including 4 American girls in nothing more than shorts and bikinis who had been there all night, freezing their butts off.

Did you offer to help them warm up?

The cave just to the right after the first (often dry) waterfall in the wash on the approach to Seerdengpu West Face. ~ 4000m, keeps you dry and low enough that rockfall not a problem, unlike the mid camp at 4200, or the 4400 camp on the right that gets no sun.
Will try to post some pics soon ....
