Home overhang from pre-existing concrete slope

Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. I am currently trying to set up a home climbing / bouldering wall in my garage. I was wondering if anyone has seen or has made their own by simply bolting on wood directly onto walls / ceilings instead of making an elaborate frame for the holds to secure on. I have a perfect Overhang in the garage at about a 45* angle about 2 - 2.5 meters in length and 1.5m wide. I would like to limit the amount of holes I have to drill into the wall itself, hence the wooden mounting board.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated, Hope I haven't confused anyone!

It looks fine as it is.

You need some spacer battens behind the board to allow the hold bolts to stick out the back a bit, 24mm/1" is about right.

Plan for a way to easily remove the ply wood in case of any spinning holds

A 2x3 grid of chemset bolts sticking out of the concrete which go through 3 horizontal spars on which the plywood is attached. The horizontal spars can also function as the spacer batons.

By using threaded chemset anchors you will then be able to easily remove the whole panel simply by undoing 6 nuts without affecting the anchor placements. Better yet you could add extra row of bolts horizontally so have the woody in two 1.5m wide pieces for easy, "back friendly" removal.

Looks like you could fridge slap the overhang and then move into a bar fridge slap of the concrete floor beam...

Could be getting up towards the V15+ end of the bouldering spectrum.
