Please don’t camp near Boganville
The Blue Mountains National Park have found people camping where the track to Boganville leaves the Narrowneck fire-trail (Glenraphael Drive). This is threatening the only known colony of the critically endangered species Zieria covenyi. Please don’t camp here!

I'm pretty sure the sign would say no camping, no climbing.
Who are Blue Mountains Climbers?

A sign explaining endagered species in the area might be the go. We need to at least understand the reason.

Could be a cover for the Sydney Rockclimbing Club's Access Officer. It's the sort of item he's always posting on Chockstone.

Pa-leeese, would everyone start referring to it as Zieria covenyi, not Zieria covenyi - it's like scraping your fingers on a blackboard, now let me get back to my Pedants Monthly magazine....

It's probably nothing you guys haven't stomped on looking for new secret crags - ooh, was I meant to say that?? BTW - did you guys find any stone axes at that aboriginal sacred site that you cleared for the unmentionable super secret cragX?? :-))))))

A sign at the gate on Narrow Neck Rd would make sense, I haven't been there for a couple of years so don't know what signage is there at present. I have encountered numerous enviromental studies along that road previously. I as a boy always dreamed they were national parks guys growing dope but the plateau enviroment seems quite unique and they were counting stuff. Think theres some sort of special frog around there to (girls you might get lucky if you give one a kiss).
A sign at a track going to a bolted climbing area in a gated national park specificly for climbers is a bad move.
And kuu, BMC, I thought this could of been started by some bolt$gate coalition for my friday work entertainment.

There is no facility here at Chockstone that I can see to use italics. And if you wish to be pedantic, after the plant is named in the body of the text, it would forever after be referred to as Z. covenyi
In italics of course!

Mulch, we ensure when we visit we leave no sign of the sacred. Bit like others who follow and pinch glue and bolts and they are the true sinners, f---ing thieves.

I think Mulchy used a bit of cleverness there and wrote the plant name inside html tags to italicise it.

Why this issue has been raised on Chockstone.
There is a known climber-related problem.
The matter has been quietly mentioned to a number of Blue Mountains climbers to discuss how the issue might be handled.
As a result, information about this particular problem is being disseminated to climbers BY climbers.
When they are properly informed, climbers can then act to do something about a problem.
Appropriate action by climbers can make it unnecessary for further measures to be contemplated by a land manager.
Problem dealt with.
It’s really not that hard guys!

I knew the walk in to Boganville was meant to be long, but I didn't know it required an overnight stop :p

I don't understand where they could be camping. I'm assuming on the opposite side of the fire-trail to the start of the Boganville turn-off?
That would be a sh*t place to camp. There's nothing flat or remotely cleared in that area from memory. Also plenty of better, more enjoyable spots that don't require damaging vegetation before and after this spot. Who are these tools?

The camping is actually at the turn off for the 'other' super secret crag along that road. Its about 2/3 of the way towards Boganville before going down the steep hill. Lovely flat section amongst trees at the bottom of a dip. I'm sure bush walkers would camp there...
