I've been climbing for a few years and after a recent-ish trip to frenchmans cap I realized although we had more than adequate skills to get up the face (which we did) if anything had of gone wrong, say the leader got hit by a rock and was knocked out, we would have been completely F#$k#D and it would have been our own fault.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any information on where i can learn some self-rescue techniques, or do an instruction course specifically based upon remote climbing techniques.
cheers.

I've enjoyed the Tyson & Loomis, 'Climbing Self-Rescue' book from mountaineer books. There are lots of little techniques that are really helpful though I'm finding they're easy to forget because I don't use them often.
I'm also keen to do the VCC self rescue course.

Register your interest early. Courses are usually full before they are formally announced because the wait list from the previous course get first dibs.

Another self rescue book worth reading, amongst others, I am sure.
