Hi Joel, I hope you enjoy this great country. Given that you are only here for a brief time I would definitely recommend heading to Sydney. If the weather is crappy you can do the touristy thing or go to sheltered local bouldering/climbing crags in and around the suburbs or Sydney sea cliffs. If the weather is fantastic then head to the Blue Mountains being mindful that if the skies are blue and its 20C in the city then it could still be snowing in the blueys (ie check local forecasts). If the weather is looking average then head south to the sheltered Nowra cliffs where the angle of the rock ensures that something in your grade range will be dry. Definitely factor in a trip to Point Perp if you get the chance. The point perp sea cliffs generally face east and south so it is possible to get some morning sun, or escape strong onshore breezes, depending on the aspect.

As with anywhere in the east of Australia at the moment (la nina) the weather is difficult to predict and changeable. Good luck!
